10 Things that you probably didn't know about donuts

Today I will speak about 10 Things that you probably didn't know about donuts. I chose this topic because I love to eat donuts. Does anybody like donuts? What is your favorite kind? Well, let’s  start.

1-   10 billion donuts are eaten a year just in the U.S

2-   The original name for donuts was “oily cakes”

3-   The first donut machine was invented in New York City in 1920

4-   Donuts did not always have the hole in the center

5-   The first Friday in June is National Donut Day

6-   May Murray invented the traditional donut in coffee when she accidentally dropped her donut in her coffee. (1934 film It Happened One Night)

7-   Dunkin’ Donuts sells the most donuts of any business worldwide. It was founded in 1950 by William Rosenberg in Massachusetts.

8-  People will often buy bagels or croissants for breakfast,  thinking they are making the healthier option in avoiding doughnuts, but a glazed donut only has 260 calories, while a croissant has 310 calories.

9-   Both 'donut' and 'doughnut' are acceptable spellings.

10-  Finally eating donuts is scientifically proven to make you happier.

Me encantan!! Muuuak
