Strawberry & basil sunshine ice tea

I am normally not a huge fan of flavored iced teas because I preferer to drink coffee. Yet, I knew that need to increase my vitamin c level to keep my immune system running. Therefore, I decided to make Strawberry & basil sunshine ice tea during my school break to enjoy this day with something refreshing.

Ingredients:

4 cups of water

3 white tea (or ginger honey tea)

1/2 cup loosely packed fresh basil leaves

8 ounces ripe strawberries

2 teaspoons stevia granules or sweetener

2 tablespoons lemon juice ice cubes

2 spring fresh basil (extra)

10 strawberries, extra, halved

Directions

1- Bring the water to a boil in a medium saucepan; remove from heat. Add tea bags and basil; stand for 5 minutes.

Discard tea bags and keep the basil leaves.

2- Blend the strawberries, stevia, or sweetener1/4 cup of the chilled tea until smooth. Then, add the rest of the strawberry puree and lemon juice to the remaining chilled tea and blend them together.

3-  Half fill a pitcher with ice, then add extra basil and extra strawberries. Pour in tea mixture, stir to combine.

Strawberries are rich in immune-boosting vitamin C, and they also contain ellagic acid which has been found to help prevent collagen damage.
